c1960s Antique Geometric Persian Sarab Runner 3.5x14.0
SERAB (SARAB), is a small town in the Azerbaijan Providence located in northwestern Iran. Serab is surrounded by low mountains and is located in the path of many tribal peoples such as the Shahsavan. Pertaining to physical characteristics of Serab(Sarab) rugs and carpets, they usually have geometric patterns with simple backgrounds. The layout is usually comprised of a central medallion with corners that look similar to it. The borderline of the medallion is zigzagged. Serab (Sarab) rugs and carpets are of excellent quality. Serab pieces usually come in runner sizes ranging with dimensions of up to 4x20 feet. Dark reds, powerful blues, or natural camel hair are predominant colors in these pieces, with ivories, browns, reds, and/or blues forming a beautiful contrast. Other colors such as soft greens, blues, and browns are found in newer carpets. They are made of a soft wool and have a thin, tight pile. The warps of the foundation are mostly cotton; the wefts are of wool. Weavers in Serab(Sarab) use both Persian and Turkish knots. Serab (Sarab) carpets Serab(Serab). If one can not find what they are looking for in a rug, a Serab(Sarab) rug is probably what they are looking for. With it's simple and classic pattern and beautiful color schemes one looking for elegance, classic beauty, and a modern touch has found it all.
